The next offering of the Communities of Practice Foundations Workshop, led
by Dr. Etienne Wenger, starts on February 5th. It focuses on the social
fundamentals that apply to all learning communities, including those that
connect primarily online. An understanding of these fundamentals is
essential when growth or contribution expectations are high, the knowledge
to be managed is of high value, or the local conditions (within which a
community-based knowledge strategy is deployed) are unique.
The workshop itself is presented on the web, in an environment that
suggests the structure and workings of an ongoing community of practice.
Join practitioners from all over the world for three exciting weeks
(stretched over a 5 week period) to examine the potential and the dynamics
of existing and newly-formed communities of practice in all kinds of
different organizational settings. See a the description of the workshop
