Replying to LO26718 --
Dear Vanessa,
I will happily send you my community college district's org charts [Please
let me know where to mail or fax them] and would like to know more about
your study, as community colleges are my focus, as well. Organizational
charts, in general, are interesting to me because in my experience, it's
often the white space around the boxes where most of the "action" is.
The reporting lines seldom indicate where the center(s) of authority
really are. I don't know about Ohio community colleges, but in
California, colleges often organize around personalities more than
functions.
My dissertation was on community colleges as learning organizations and if
you think it would be of interest or help to you, let me know.
Welcome to the group. Harriett.
