Greeings dear Lee,
I decided to see with Google's advance search engine at
< http://www.google.com/advanced_search >
what is already available on internet.
With in the second window (exact phrase)
mental model
and in the first window (all words)
experiment
I got 6160 hits. I was surprised because i expected a few hundred.
It will take days to work through each of those 6160 hits. So i began
pruning these hits by putting in the first window
experiment change
It gave 4410 hits. More pruning was needed. With in the first window
experiment continuous organisational change
it gave 162 hits. That is a fair number to work through.
But since you have managers in mind, i added manager to the first
window
experiment managers continuous organisational change
which then gave 95 hits. I think that you will find some interesting
information in some of these files.
You may also have a look at the lexicon of the SOL (Society for
Organisational Learning) at
Unfortunately, its file on research at
does not give any indication of experimental research done on mental
models.
>I want to examine how their mental models effect their
>capacity to change and how they react to that change.
I want to caution you that more than merely a MM (Mental Model) may
inhibit their capacity to change and their reaction to change. For
example, assume that FE and some of seven ECs have also an influence on
their capacity to change and their reaction to change. How would you
decern that it is a MM and not FE or a EC? (By the way, fellow learners
who already have been participating for a long time in our LO-dialogue
ought to get the idea what these mysterious FE and ECs are ;-)
Have you ever thought how mental models are caused? There are several
theories and each of them would make the design of the experiment
different.
With care and best wishes,
