I would like to add to the idea that teams are best in complex situations
and individuals in simple ones.

I believe that this is only so if the members of the team are able and
wiling to operate as a team and be effective together. This is not always
the case (often not the case). When this occurs then I do not believe that
teams are more effective at complex problems.
