Well, Debbie, it's all word of mouth. The network includes about six
members of my business department, who are primarily office specialists,
and 2 are co-learners in my graduate degree program. Two others have come
in from work, but outside the business group. Two are members of a local
learning/consulting group that I'm involved with.
The workshop's members have each agreed to bring a personal mastery topic.
We've also agreed to use the Talking Stick Circle method for opening our
dialog during the first hour. It's very useful in slowing our speech,
thought and listening to a dialog-friendly speed. I'm working very hard
to be more of a critical listener than a speaker, and facilitate primarily
by providing the meeting place (and snacks). For many of these folks,
this is their first experience in meeting under these conditions for these
purposes. They insist that they're enjoying it (and I have no reason to
doubt it).
We've engaged in dialog about mental models, ladders of inference,
cultural diversity and conflict resolution, to date. We've also agreed to
refer to the 5th Discipline Fieldbook as our basic source, since just
about everyone has a copy (I bought one copy for each office, and have 2
that I loan out).
We're still feeling our way into this, in much the way I see people
feeling their way into this list.
