My suggestion for a facilitating a reading group online would be to pose
the following questions:

1) what questions/concerns do we have on this topic BEFORE we begin
reading?

2) what is the background of the author and the likely implications of
that background on his perspective?

3) what are the major claims the author makes? what is the author's
support of those claims?

4) what new possibilities do those claims point us to?

5) what new actions might we take individually and collectively?

6) at the end of the book, summarize the key insights and new actions
people are committed to taking

These questions are taken from the studies I've done with Fernando Flores
and some of his colleagues. They have led to very useful reading groups
in the past. I'm sure there are other approaches but wanted to run this
by the group to get your perspectives on enhancing questions for this type
of dialogue.

Hope this helps.
