Replying to LO14480 --

I have a lack of relevant experience to the specific problem that you
mention, but I have thought that a good model might be that of a good
philosophical discussion. We *want* the diversity there, and it is
important to recognize that people often find difficulty putting their
thoughts into words, and all must be encouraged to be patient and
sympathetic about that. It is also important for all to learn that we are
mutually engaged in the testing of ideas, and not judging the person --
which calls for both courage and mutual consideration. I have thought
that the materials and techniques, and the emphasis on the creation of a
"community of inquiry" pursued by the "philosophy for children" movement
out of Montclair College might be particularly useful in training people
in philosophical discussion of the kind that would be particularly useful
in Learning Organizations.
