Hello, my name is Nick Bontis and I am returning to the Learning-Org
discussion list after a three year hiatus during which I pursued my PhD in
Business Policy and Strategic Management at the Ivey School of Business in
the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada).

I have spent the last several years researching in the areas of
organizational learning, intellectual capital and knowledge management. I
am currently completing my doctoral dissertation in which I test several
hypotheses in the area of organizational learning using a survey
instrument initially developed by my thesis supervisor Professor Mary
Crossan. Professor Crossan has been a leading authority on organizational
learning research over the past 10 years. I plan to administer the survey
to over a thousand organizations worldwide in the next couple of months.

Much of the academic research in the field of organizational learning over
the past 30 years has been qualitative in nature consisting of case-based
reports or anectodal evidence. Theory evaluation using empirically-based
methodologies has yet to develop and that is the void I hope my research
aims to fill.

I look forward to networking with both practitioners and academics
interested in my research program.

Cheers,

Nick Bontis
