Steve,

I believe that your analysis applies to many industries, and particularly
health, which i have had the opportunity to observe in New Zealand.

While I agree that school aculturation is one of the contributing factors,
I suggest that another is economic analysis which is almost entirely
focussed on narrow cost/benetis, with little or no consideration of the
human and social 'capital' which is necessary to make these processes
function.
