I wish to add to your list the book "Images of Organisation" by Gareth
Morgan, published by Sage Publications 1986.
It is faszinating both content and, methodology as well as.
Yet it doesn't provide an instrument in a technical sense. It uses
metaphors (organisation as a machine, as an organism, as a brain, as
culture, as politics, as a mental prison, as flow and change and as an
instrument for power) as different viewpoints to look at organisations.
Morgan discribes and analyses what can be seen and understood from these
viewpoints. For me, this is more than an Org Diagnostic Instrument - it is
an open guideline to understand organisations.
