1998 IAF Conference Theme
The Art and Mastery of Facilitation: Creating Bridges to the Future
The IAF conference is a gathering of up to 700 new and experienced,
internal and external, facilitators and practitioners. People will be
coming together from all over the world to share their experience and
expertise and to learn from each other. The 1998 conference focuses on five
bridges leading toward the Art and Mastery of Facilitation.
Bridge To Organization Effectiveness - The Impact Of Facilitation
What role can facilitation play in organizations? Learn dynamic leadership
tools, techniques, and management practices used in the public and private
sectors: how to build facilitation capabilities within organizations;
facilitation applications and strategic planning processes for whole system
interventions; and new ways to measure bottom-line results of facilitation.
Bridge To Community - Collaboration and Partnership
Facilitation is the key to collaborative communities. This bridge focuses
on methods and practices for facilitating collaboration and alliances in
pursuit of mutual goals among people with diverse backgrounds and differing
viewpoints. Methods can be applied to local communities and to communities
within or among organizations.
Bridge to Individual Effectiveness
Dont forget to promote your own professional growth, change, and learning!
This bridge includes: skills enhancement, using innovative concepts,
building your practice, creating effective partnerships with other
consultants, and facilitation as a business.
Bridge to Solutions Around the Globe - Facilitation from Around the World
International applications and experiences from various cultures and
traditions; facilitation across boundaries of culture, geography, language,
and virtual situations; facilitating groups through conflict and working
with disagreement; and new ways to work with international issues.
Bridge To Creativity - Innovative Facilitation Techniques
>From the unusual to the outrageous. Learn ideas and processes for using
art, music, non-linear thinking, and unstructured techniques to produce
quantum leaps in group work; what to do when nothing else seems to work;
and how to tap into group creativity.
