The September 1997 issue of "Discover" magazine has an interesting article
on 'Truth, Beauty, and the Virtual Machine' by David Gelernter which adds
to and also reinforces some of the discussion we have had here in the
Beauty and Compassion thread. His point is that science and technology
could not exist without beauty yet we try to deny or ignore that in our
beliefs that science is objective, logical, analytical,etc.
He is especially referencing software and I have spent 20+ years in such
companies but think anyone might enjoy this article as I did.
