That reminds me. When I was first at HP, I noted that we seemed to spend
a _lot_ of time talking about values in a somewhat practical sense but not
as much as I expected from prior experience talking about concrete plans
and tactics. I also noted that it seemed highly likely for people in
different parts of the organization to respond quite similarly to
identical scenarios without needing the time to discuss them or gain
consensus; the commonly shared values controlled the organization.
