Some of our basic premises are:
A wealth of knowledge exists and can be generated among people with a
passion for learning and a willingness to explore critical linkages
across traditional boundaries (Wheatley);
There is a need to explore processes of learning and sharing knowledge
in dispersed, transient networks (Peters).
Our meetings are based on Open Space Technology Guidelines those who
come to our meetings are the right people; whatever happens is the only
thing that could have happened. While this might sound simplistic it
really isnt . Eliminating rules, expectations, judgments frees one to
share thoughts openly. Our mind set is: Who knows where this might lead,
what we will learn from each other, and what we might become together .
We also follow DeBonos guidelines for positive thinking. We explore all
ideas to discover whatever good features exist. We examine weaknesses in
an idea in order to avoid or strengthen them, rather than use them as a
means for rejecting the idea.
People from several states attend our meetings; people from all over the
world have shown an interest in our concept of NFK and want to be placed
on our mailing list. New ideas, new alliances, new friendships, new
business, and much more have resulted from our meetings. Participants,
regardless of their backgrounds (which are quite varied), find the group
beneficial and stimulating.
