You are invited to attend a Virtual Conference taking place now in Grand
Rapids MIchigan. Although the conference has many strands, the one that
might be of most interest to this list is the Community Learning Strand
hosted by the Community Learning Enterprise, an initiative of Grand Rapids
Community College. The Community Learning Enterprise works with
individuals, organizations and sectors of the community to foster and
promote community learning. One of the main issues we have been dealing
with is the application of Organizational Learning principles to Community
Learning.
We invite you to join the discussion which will seek to answer these
important questions:
What kind of Grand Rapids do we see for our childrens' grandchildren?
Why is community learning important for Grand Rapids?
How could community learning benefit you personally?
Who makes decisions about where we are headed?
How can we make a diverse community work for everyone?
How do we deal with power struggles?
What resources do we need to work better together?
How do we continue this conversation in the larger community?
I have been a participant during the first week and have been impressed
with the level of dialogue. The six-week conference is in its second week
and will have a variety of experts and moderators throughout the event.
