John Paul, when is irony done?

In high school, I had an English assignment to talk about those two songs.
Donne words could be thought of as
"No man is an island (though without notice they may think so)"
And Simon's
"I say I am an island (but "an island never cries" and I guess that I am
crying, so I'm not really an island)"
So maybe they're saying the same thing.
pardon the addition, however,
"islands in the stream, that is what we are, so much inbetween, (ie
misunderstanding and war), in a learning world, distance shall be crossed,
and we'll espy one another, uh-huh." :)
No pun intended on "pardon" - really.
Have a nice day
