I have to say that I feel that the preciousness of time is highly
overrated. In the movie "Fast Times At Ridgemont High", One of the teachers
showed up at a students house on a friday night (when the kid wanted to go
out) and forced him to sit through the history lesson that the student had
constantly disrupted that day. The teachers' rationale was "the class room
time is my time and you wasted my time today. I am now here to waste your
time". The rhetorical implication is that it reinforced the students
conception that school is a waste of time. The teacher did succeed,
however, in showing the kid the importance of history in the present.
It isn't how much time you have, It's what you do with it. We make time
precious. Try not to allow time to be your master, but master your time.
