Doc thanks for the kind words regarding my observations. I agree 1. that
hierarchies (modern feudal substitutes) create this type of reaction from
people. it seems that they are looking for the person with your point
that we are looking to make someone with power "responsible" and therefore
ask them to make the decisions for us. It also allows us to complain if
we don't like the deci sion.
You further state:
getting a third party involved to "rescue" the 1st and 2d party from their
mutual conflict creates a powerful triangle of resentment, anger,
frustration--indeed the 1st and 2d parties frequently come together long
enough to bring the 3rd party down.
I hadn't thought about this "triangling" concept. Family systems theory
suggests it occurs in families, why not in political interactions.
