Two heads can be better than one, or 1+1. We wouldn't be having this
discussion if our parents hadn't formed an organization known as family.
I agree with the next question here, how to make them work better. I think
it is especially important now because of the pace and extent of change,
worldwide and right in my kitchen. And I see that as driven and enabled
significantly by information technology use.
To take a bit of a tangent, I'm mainly offering this because I found a few
tidbits I think others might welcome. They are related to a talk given by
Douglass North for WIDER (stands for something like world institute for
developing economy research) in Helsinki on March 7 this year. I note it
here because he focuses on the role of institutions and the inattention to
that by traditional economics. North's bio is at
http://www.nobel.se/laureates/economy-1993-2-autobio.html (great story for
other human beings) and the talk is at
http://www.wider.unu.edu/northpl.htm - or just search on WIDER and you'll
get that and more.
