enterprise integration, assessing organizational readiness, CE process
characterization, workflow tracking and management, CE assessment models,
planning and scheduling, business process re-engineering, CE metrics,
barriers to CE, agile manufacturing, virtual enterprises.
Collaborative Decision-Making: Decision processes in cooperative work, goal
synthesis, team coordination, decision support systems, multi-criteria
decision making, design assessment, monitoring of product development,
change notification across perspectives, cooperative problem solving,
computer support for team structure, project and team coordination.
Reasoning and Negotiation: Conflict resolution, goal negotiation, constraint
modelling, constraint management, blackboard and agent-based architectures,

demonstrators, systematic guidelines, pitfalls and success stories, case
studies, lessons learned, CE issues for large versus small/medium
enterprises, applications in defence sector.
Conference Proceedings
Conference Proceedings will be published in a series entitled Advances in
Concurrent Engineering. The Concurrent Engineering: Research and
Applications (CERA) journal has sponsored the Best Paper Award, to be judged
by the CE98 Conference Awards Committee. Selected expanded papers will be
reviewed for inclusion in a special issue of the CERA journal.
