An ideal could be something like the Pareto Principle split Internal to
org: 80% cooperation/20% competition External to org: 20%
cooperation/80% competition
Here's a spin on that -
In the short term - day-to-day, year-to year - emphasis and compensation
is placed on teamwork.
In the long term - one's career - emphasis and compensation is placed on
competition for positions of larger responsibility and pay.
It sounds so hierarchical though.
