Howard and et al,
In order for schools to implement learning organization principles, it
requires changing the way schools are managed from the state level on
down. As a member of a community visioning education task force, we have
found that that the two basic problems affecting schools are the system of
organization and the community which either requires that schools solve
their community's problems or expects high achieving students with little
or no cost at the local level. There is a fundamental crisis in public
education which LO principles can help, but only after some other issues
are resolved. Part of that is LO in state education departments, and
communities as learning organizations.
Respectfully,
