Thanks for your explanation, Steve. I believe I understand what you meant.
As for the example given by my children, the answer is yes, the fireplace
used to attract them when it's cold - and that resulted in a couple of
messes with ashes all over the living room - experience they both had and
didn't repeat due to a learning experience that was social... ;o)
I originally replied to your post because statements that contains
generalizations with "always", or "never" or other words giving it a sense
of being absolute very often arouse my suspicions...
