Replying to Dale Emery's post, Performance Rating LO17594, and the length
of the coast of Maine, guess I was less interested in the EXACT length of
the coast and more tongue in cheek about the tendency of many people to
NEED that EXACT answer.
In many of our discussions, we are seeking truth. Yet Dale's initial post
indicating changing lengths with changing measurement tools is more to the
issue of reality. It is why perspective and experience are so valued, I
guess, and why I am so loath to be the expert any more.
My experience says that there are always lots of answers, many more than
questions, one would guess. Thus, I seek guidance and insight much more
than rely on the answer; art more than science maybe.
So, thanks again, Dale, for a wonderful metaphor on measurement.
