For those interested in this proposition, might want to check out Stephen
Pinker's first book, which is an eminently readible approach to
psycholinguistics and addresses the proposition, and basically explains
it's limitations/falsity.

Sorry, don't have the title: (Stephen and I knew each other slightly as
