A good primer for mental models and metaphorical thinking is "Metaphors We
Live By" Lakoff, G. & Johnson, M. (1980) ISBN 0-226-46801-1. This concept
of how we "frame" our thoughts and the consequences of this human tendancy
directly influences our view of reality. It's a fun read...enjoy
yourself.
