PURPOSE: Collaborative Action Associates cordially invites you to
participate in a practical data driven teleconference to identify and
discuss concrete ways to transform organizational politics into new
business effectiveness and individual development. There is no fee for
participation in this teleconference.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: Executives, managers, individual contributors, and
change agents who are actively involved or interested in reducing
organizational politics while increasing organizational performance,
candor, and innovation.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE FOR PARTICIPATING: Every individual who completes the
attached 15-minute confidential survey will receive:

1. An executive summary identifying recurring barriers to transforming
organizational politics into new business performance.

2. A transcript of the teleconference (described below) via email or, upon
request, an audiotape.

TELECONFERENCE DESIGN

1. IDENTIFYING THE BARRIERS TO TRANSFORMING ORGANIZATIONAL POLITICS: The
attached questionnaire will be analyzed for recurring barriers and then
reported out in generic and anonymous fashion. A summary of this
information will be distributed to all individuals who submit their
questionnaire. This research data will be used to focus the discussion
during the teleconference described below.

2. THE TELECONFERENCE: From the total pool of respondents, a
representative group of about 20 organizations will be invited to join in
a two hour teleconference on July 14, 1998. Participants will be selected
so as to provide a cross-section of industries and organizational roles.
During the teleconference, a panel of experienced executives and change
agents will discuss and illustrate successful and unsuccessful approaches
to transforming organizational politics into new business performance and
individual growth. Teleconference participants will be encouraged to
address questions and comments to panelists. After the teleconference,
all individuals who submitted a survey will receive a teleconference
transcript via email, or upon request, an audiotape.

A cross-section of individuals will be invited to participate in a quality
assurance interview to collect feedback on the conference experience
itself.

PANELISTS:

ALAN FIDLER, Director of Operations, Americas Business Center, Polaroid
Corporation, Bedford MA. Mr. Fidler has over 25 years of managerial
experience in manufacturing, product development, strategic marketing, and
customer care operations. He is presently responsible for the overall
management and leadership of Polaroid's primary call and service
activities for North America, a $1.2 billion business. He is actively
leading Polaroid's efforts to accelerate his organization's business
performance through new innovative business practices.

DONNA KIMMEL, Manager, Leadership Development, Texas Instruments, Dallas,
TX. Ms. Kimmel is responsible for managing leadership and executive
development worldwide for Texas Instruments. In addition, she manages the
team responsible for individual growth and development and succession
planning. She has a professional interest in the reality of office
politics and how it derails talented individuals in organizations. Ms.
Kimmel has a Master of Science in Organizational Development from
Pepperdine University.

JUDY HAMM, Manager of Training and Development, Americas Business Center,
Polaroid Corporation, Bedford MA. Ms. Hamm has 20 years of experience
with Polaroid in a variety of positions. As Manager of Training and
Development, she has examined and worked with a number of change methods.
Currently, she has been implementing new organizational learning practices
focused on increasing performance management and individual and group
development.

GARY LOSPALUTO, Co-President and Founder, Collaborative Action Associates,
Medford, MA. Mr. Lospaluto has developed practical methods for
implementing organizational change, reducing organizational politics, and
measuring the resulting bottom-line impact. He has over 18 years
experience consulting to a wide range of organizations, including
Motorola, Amoco Oil, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Owens-Corning, Tellabs, and
Digital Equipment. Mr. Lospaluto received his Masters degree at Harvard,
where he studied and worked with Chris Argyris.

MICHAEL HALPERIN (MODERATOR), Co-President, Collaborative Action
Associates, Medford, MA. With over 20 years of consulting experience, Mr.
Halperin has fostered effective organizational change in a wide range of
settings and applications. During the past nine years, he has helped
develop and implement Collaborative Action Technology. He coordinated a
research effort to diagnose and overcome critical barriers to maximizing
the value of corporate training and organization development efforts.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE: By FRIDAY, JUNE 19, please return your answers to the
questions below. We will be contacting a number of respondents during the
week of June 22 to invite them to participate in the teleconference. There
is no fee for participation in this conference. Those participating in
the teleconference will be asked to make a regular toll call to the
conference bridge.
