Hi, Suzanne--

wow! what a wonderful opportunity you have. not knowing what your
process has been so far--what the buy in is for the question you've
tentatively defined (among the members of your organization)--I'll offer
only one observation. I think brainstorming is inappropriate to what
you're attempting to do. It allows people to throw out ideas without
accountability or responsibility for their consequences. I encourage you
to consider using a series of open space events to help you integrate all
of your organizational stakeholders into this important and critical
process your initiating.

There are a number of extremely well-qualified open space practitioners in
your part of the world--if you're interested, I'd be happy to give you a
reference or two.

With regards to how core institutional values relate to competency
profiles--I'd really appreciate you providing some clarification
concerning what the reasons why your organization decided upon developing
these values (what are the hoped for consequences)?

thanks!

Doc
