NOTE for Web Readers: This is a test msg to see if graphics can get
to people reading Learning-org by email. If you are reading on the Web,
I already know what you can see... No reply necessary. ...Rick
For the learning-org list, I have always tended towards a low
common denominator in terms of required technology so that our
dialogue would have maximum reach. Up until now that has been plain
text email.
I'm thinking of changing our standard to permit, in addition,
msgs which include graphics and styled text. I perceive these
capabilities are becomming reasonably available and I think the
addition of simple graphics would greatly enhance our dialogue
here.
But, for now a very small TEST. Just below is my name
"Rick" in bright blue handwritten letters. Please reply to
me, Richard@Karash.com, to say whether you can see the handwritten
letters. If you see gibberish just below, just reply
"No".
Here is a line with bold and italicized text. This
word is RED, this one GREEN. Please let me know if these text styles
are visible to you... Or are you seeing the coding tags that only
computers are supposed to see ?
The change I'm considering is to allow HTML msgs with graphics.
I believe these msgs can be created easily with in (I did this one in
Eudora Pro), Netscape Communicator, and probably other programs. I am
getting a lot of incoming msgs with HTML encoding; up until now, I've
just converted them to plain text.
If you have experience trying to use HTML msgs with or without
graphics, please let me know how you find it and what email software
you are using.
I'll collect responses over the next week or so and then
summarize.
If we make this change, it'll take a bit of coordination with
the LO web pages, so nothing will happen right away.
Thanks as always for your contributions and participation in
Learning-org!
