You are right on in your comments. I led a group through a major
organizational redesign a couple of years ago (to be described in the
winter National Productivity Review), and I got much the same response
from some. Fortunately for me, I also had a change management consultant
around who was able to confirm that we were, if anything, ahead of
schedule in pulling that project off.
Rushing these things doesn't make for sustainable change. I am, however,
interested in leading this sort of change efficiently, once I've covered
the basics (doing it effectively).
