You are absolutely right. These terms get used almost interchangeably. We
decided to define them in the following way.

Intellectual Capital is the Market Value of the company less the book
value.

Intellectual capital is also the accumulated knowledge within the company
plus the capacity to learn.

We decided to define KM in terms of how we manage the accumulated
knowledge and OL as the process by which we increase the capacity to
learn.

We are conscious that there are probably as many definitions as there are
contributors to this list, but we found this one helps us both internally
and in communication with clients.
