Replying to LO19763 --

As a student, and later, professor at two major universities--Iowa
State and Colorado State, the bottom line is: Any lecture or sermon must
engage the listener or it fails. (That's called cut-to-the-chase!)
Some of my best moments in college teaching were when teaching
colleagues came to me and complained because students in their classes
were still talking about what had been said in mine--that's exactly what I
wanted--continuous engagement of the learner!
