The deadline for submission of papers and symposia proposals for the
August 1999 Chicago meeting of the Academy of Management is January 8th.
It seems close doesn't it. But YOU CAN MAKE IT! What you have to do is
contact a few other people in the know on your topic. Have each write out
an abstract of their panel presentation. You as "organizer" then staple
them together and write an integrating introduction. Presto-chango,
you've got a symposium submission for the Academy. Sent it off to more
than one division. Check the call (its url is below) and target the
divisions that fit with your research.
We in the Management Education and Development Division
particularly welcome symposium proposals. We are interested in what
people are doing with that new curriculum at your school, with that new
teaching technology, with globalizing, adding ethical dimensions, service
learning, integrating with other disciplines, internships, Internet
applications, special issues with management education in your country,
issues in undergraduate management education, issues in MBA programs,
issues in doctoral level management education, assessment issues, issues
in mentoring newbie instructors, issues in mentoring your senior faculty,
issues of diversity. Your experience and that of your colleagues is
valuable. You know it--tell us about. Submit a symposium proposal.

ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT MEETING
CHICAGO AUGUST 8-11, 1999
submission deadline: January 8, 1999
The Management Education and Development division (MED) particularly
invites papers for special sessions on MANAGEMENT EDUCATION IN A
PLURALISTIC WORLD. Though time is late, we know you can finish a paper or
(more readily accomplished now) develop a complete symposium (panel)
proposal by January 8th on this important subject. Really!
Of course, all divisions of the Academy of Management invite your
submissions (as you can see in the call listed below) on the conference
theme: Change and Development Journeys into a Pluralistic World.
