Not only a necessary good but a reality that exists whether we want it to
or not. Whether it is mental models of success or failure...that is how
the brain works... it forms "maps of reality" /models. There are many
different types of models that are formed from simple heuristics to
complex systems of organization (sensory identification/pattern
recognition).

I can point to numerous information in Cognitive Science to explicate this
more if people would feel more assured of this conclusion.
