What I thought Bill was asking about was a style question (how do you cite
email in a scholarly work). Bill, if I was wrong, forgive me...but I once
asked a similar question. Most style books do have a citation guideline
for URLs and e-mails. Within the guidance that Rick has given, you might
want to refer to one of the better style guides for an example of
preferred citation styles.
