"So what will characterize the New Age -- what will be its leading
force? I am very tempted to try and answer this question, but I am
more interested in reading your answers."

There's nothing so challenging as being asked the question of the
millennium. Thank you, At ...

"The correct anticipation of the future -- times which will surely
come -- is one of the important tasks of learning individuals and
learning organizations alike."

I guess we can wait and see, or we could .. how would you say .. be
proactive and explore the "what would happen if" paths.

What comes to mind along the path of "instincts" to "thoughts" to
"whatever", is that "whatever" may have something to do with relationships
or interactions or links of various kinds. It seems that we, as a society,
are being prepared for these types of interconnecting events. Networks are
beginning to exist in many forms - challenging our capacity to handle the
new relationships. We can resist, but increasingly our survival depends on
these interactions. Depersonalized, they are lacking. Incorporating
"love", they'd indeed become something else.

Maybe "respect" is a component of the New Age. "Partnerships" another.

Each of these components carries with it hope about the future, based on a
recognition that we've probably come as far as we can by our own thoughts.
Linking our thoughts with others may give us a better chance to survive
(or succeed, depending on which way one wishes to phrase it). All we have
to figure out is how to respect each other.
