I suggest three steps:
1. A week or so before the speaker comes, ask the people who will be in
the audience what they would like to get out of spending time with this
person.
2. Schedule a two-hour session immediately following the speaker. During
that session, ask the audience to talk about what they heard and how they
think it might be useful to them or the organization. Reflect back to
them what they said they wanted to get out of the session and ask how they
can create what they want, using what they've heard and how they think it
might be useful.
3. Follow up on this in a week or two, and don't let go of the changes
that start to develop. After all, this is a change effort, and it won't
bear fruit without consistent attention.
