David, you might find the Knowledge Management Consortium to be of
interest (www.km.org) to you. The KMC has been championing an approach to
knowledge management for the past year and a half that is squarely based
on complex adaptive systems theory as a framework for learning. In fact,
Knowledge Management magazine, in its current issue, refers to us as
"...the Santa Fe Institute of knowledge management."
We are now working on a series of executable models that are intended for
direct application of these ideas in businesses and other human
organizations. For us, knowledge management is an implementation strategy
for organizational learning and its tactics are directly inspired by
complex adaptive systems theory.
Good luck.
