I tend to divide very clever people into two types:
the first take what seem to be impossibly complex issues and, in simple
language, make the essence of the issue very clear. Karl-Henrik Robhrt of
The Natural Step is an excellent example of such a person.
the second take issues you always thought were comprehensible and, in very
convoluted language, manage to demonstrate that it is all so difficult
that only they can understand it. No names, no packdrill.
The second group are alas more common than the first, and seem to be
becoming more common.
