Dear Rick,
On the question of buildings and offices as LO enablers there is an
Australian by the name of Bill Ford who has done a lot of work in this
area. Bill was originally a Professor of Industrial Relations but in
recent years has left academia and runs a firm consulting to Oz's
equivalent of Fortune 100 companies.
Parts of the Sydney 2000 Olympic site, for example, were run as "learning
sites" under Bill's tutelage with great success. He also works with Lend
Lease, a major Australian based building contractor with extensive
international links, on the notion of building renovation around learning
principles. Bill has also worked internationally for the UN, UNESCO etc.
I would be happy to pass on Bill's contact details personally to anyone
who is interested.
