Dear Stan: I wonder if it is partly because some gardens, for example
vegetable gardens or annual beds, are born, live, and die within
relatively limited time periods. However, the growth of people and
organizations can span many, many years and it is harder to measure the
change, which is often incremental. You learn to enjoy those two
different types of growth in different ways. Could that be part of it?
