I'm very interested in how you get "things accomplished in what is called a
"shared governance" environment -- and getting it done within someone's
lifetime."
When I once struggled with helping an academic department (with much pain
and anguish -- mostly my own!), I was comforted by a friend who carefully
explained to me that:
the intensity of academic acrimony is inversely proportional to the
importance of the topic.
