RF Goodale ate at that restuarant too, in 1989, and still remembers the
service (even if he, too, can't remember the name!). He hasn't been to
Santa Barbara since then, but if and when he does, he will be sure to
track down the name and dine there again. What amazes him is that since
that experience he has had many hundreds of restaurant meals, none of
which approached the standard of that evening 10 years ago. He wonders,
as did Malvina Reynolds, "when will they ever learn?" He also enjoys
speaking of himself in the third person, from time to time.
