I concur with your position. I attempted to articulate the same in a
different manner: the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. While
Hitler achieved various short term goals and objectives and was able to
gather followers does not make him a leader except in the crudest sense of
the concept: in a perverted sense.
More to the point, in my mind, is the rationalization of "impact" having a
relationship to "leadership." There can be no argument that Hitler had an
impact on Germany, Europe and the world. Thanks, but I'll pass on the next
such impact.
