Hello, LO List!

I've re-connected and re-subscribed to this list after a rather long
absence, so I should re-introduce myself.

I've been a manager and an individual contributor in applying technology
to organizational development for my whole career. While I was writing a
thesis for a Masters' degree in architecture and planning (about the
mechanical reporduction of architecture), I got a job as a typist at the
University of Colorado. Eventually that led to work in facilities,
financial and market planning. During my last 5 years at the University,
I was the director of a new department that provided data documentation
and data access support to administrative staff. We developed a data
warehouse and a web site with some 65 thousand pages. Because of my
interest in system dynamics and organizational learning I joined an
internal consultancy at StorageTek that focused on process improvement and
quality. In addition to helping build that department, my job was to
support communities of practice in the areas of software, marketing,
quality improvement and project management.

I'd been wanting to relocate to Portland for a while, so when a voluntary
separation program was offered at StorageTek, I decided that this was my
chance to move here where I'm currently working on putting down roots and
finding work. One of my current projects is the development of resources
for community builders.
