A new discussion MGSERVLEARN-L has been formed to discuss the exciting
issues of SERVICE LEARNING (sometimes called COMMUNITY BASED LEARNING) in
management education. Service-learning is a method by which students
learn and develop through active participation in thoughtfully organized
experiences that meet actual community needs. Our discussions will
include ideas on collaboration between universities and communities,
integration of service learning experiences into academic curricula, how
reflection is included, writing and other assignments related to service
learning, grants experiences and possibilities, what others are doing,
evaluation dimensions and issues, and fostering a sense of caring for
others.
To join just go to the Academy of Management home page section on
lists at: http://www.aom.pace.edu/lists/ and click on SERVICE LEARNING
NETWORK and enter your email address. Presto! You're an us!
Best regards,
