Dear Genene: I think you have just explained in large part why most
freeways are clogged with one passenger per vehicle. I occasionally car
pool because I have a horrendous commute, but truthfully, that time in the
car is my private thinking time and I really want to keep it that way. I
actually look forward to it, even if I do gnash my teeth over the time I
spend on the road. My used car came with a 6-CD changer and I wouldn't
give that up for anything. In fact, I now think a car is just something
you buy to carry the CD player. Given the right music for my mood and/or
the problem I'm trying to work out, the possibilities seem endless! Most
days, it's maybe my most productive time. Harriett
