Dear At
>From one South African to another, I pretty happy with living in New
Zealand for some of the reasons you mention, an interesting point of view
you have. But not that simple, all humans are time binders ( we bind time
from time immemorial that's my systems approach). The cause and effects
are long lost to us in antiquity, history does not start or begin when we
think. Behaviour, language knowledge is past from one generation to the
next, Aristotle's laws of logic effects us thousands of years later.
Our actions and deeds, thoughts are bound up in time from those long long
dead. That brings into question other things like free will which I will
not mention here. The thoughts and intentions of those that have gone
before us are not articulated and definitely not well recorded by
historians. I have rather a simple approach to many of the things we do.
Humans effect each others nervous systems from the beginning of so called
time in a mental emotional way.
All human action boils down to two very simple things
(the fear of fear, the fear of pain, the fear of losses, the dread of
death, the fear of death, pain) and
(the hopes, ideals, ambitions, desires, needs and wants and pleasures)
and the tension between the two. We don't realise that this is happening,
because it resides in our subconscious.
I often ask my clients what is the sole and final purpose of industrial
effort- I have a trite answer for that and it is simply to meet the
needs/desires of mankind. What is the purpose of economic effort- to meet
the needs of customers in a better and better way, those that are
articulated and those that are not. I challenge myself every time when I
have feelings or emotions and each time they boil down to the same
fundamental thing what I fear or what I desire. Next time you have a
feeling inside, see if you are shrinking or growing.
If the above statement I make about industrial effort is true then all
knowledge and skills are for that end.
Test: check every product ever produced or used by mankind. For what use and
what end?
Test: check out mans endeavours: For what ultimate purpose and end?
Test: Check out sport- the same tension between the fear of losing and
exhilaration of winning, played out over and over again.
Everything we do is thus: even the Tension between Hell (pain and death,
burning on the one hand)
and Heaven ( ideals, hopes, harmony and infinitely beautiful, pleasurable
on the other ).
I challenge you to find a different reason for goal directed human
behaviour and fear behaviour. Those that had power over life and death in
the old days were the rulers, hence they were seen as divine. Some
countries still have that today. South Africa was little different in the
apartheid years. Ruling on fear, presiding over death, restriction,
separation and wanting to create the ultimate state free of degradation
and fear. All nations that at their core drive on fear unbundle and break
down eventually.. I don't think I have to say anymore here.
Entropy is just fear, death, degradation, constriction, shrinkage,
restriction, starvation, degradation, excommunication, rejection,
abandonment etc in another form.
The values that we all hold so dear are simply deprivations and needs,
ideals, hopes in another form. Learnt from our forefathers and part of the
beast. ( there are also simple physiological reasons too)
Test: What values or cultural values does your particular society hold
dear. Why do they have them, what do they mean? How do they act out their
desires?
Test: What is the prevailing values of the dominant rulers or the dominant
values of the society? There lies the answer to your question. That
defines that specific societies direction.
I have accurately measured this in some organisations, to their shock they
realise often they are focusing on their own needs and neglecting the
customers needs? How common!!!!
Groete
