Lee asked for clarification or differentiation between organizational
learning and knowledge management. I don't see the two as being the same,
although they certainly have compatible purposes. Put simply, I see org.
learning as an outcome of knowledge management, the process.
One could have a knowledge management process in place and NOT produce
organizational learning if the culture, leadership, etc. were incompatible
with this goal. Likewise, one certainly sees considerable organizational
learning take place without having any intended KM process in place. If,
however, KM is implemented in a suitable and supportive environment, Org.
Learning will certainly occur.
Anyway, that's my 2-cents.
