The full title is, "The World Cafe: Catalyzing Large-Scale Collective
Learning"

The PEGASUS brochure and web site say:

>"In the new economy, conversations are the most important form of
>work. Conversations are the way knowledge workers discover what they
>know, share it with their colleagues, and in the process create new
>knowledge for the organization." Alan Webber, Harvard Business Review
>
>The World Cafe is a simple but powerful guiding image and
>infrastructure for knowledge evolution. Meeting at the World Cafe
>enables you to experience how collaborative insight, innovation, and
>action emerge from webs of conversation to create knowledge and
>vitalize organizations. At the Cafe, the presenters join with you to
>pose "questions that travel well," focus on what matters, and share
>discoveries at increasing levels of scale. They then examine the
>implications of fostering large-scale collective learning for creating
>sustainable business and social value.
>
>Juanita Brown, founder of Whole Systems Associates, collaborates as a
>strategist and thinking partner with senior leaders around the world
>in developing knowledge-based organizations and large-scale change
>initiatives. She has served as a Senior Affiliate at the MIT Center
>for Organizational Learning and is a Research Affiliate with the
>Institute of the Future.
>
>David Isaacs is President of Clearing Communications, an
>organizational and communications strategy company working with
>corporate leaders in the U.S. and abroad. He has worked as a line
>executive managing crisis and transition, and he has been actively
>involved in global sustainability projects with the Institute of
>Noetic Sciences, the World Business Academy, and The Natural Step.
>
>Nancy Margulies works with corporations and educational groups
>worldwide. She facilitates meetings and presents ideas using her
>unique form of graphic representation, Mindscaping. She has led
>strategic thinking sessions for major corporations and is the author
>of The Mind Map and Mapping Inner Space, as well as instructional
>materials on learning and creativity.

This will be a stimulating and enjoyable experience! I've worked with
Juanita, David, and Nancy and experienced something similar (I believe) in
the cafe Juanita and Peter Senge led at the Fall 1997 SoL meeting in
Monterey.

Please reply here with comments on the session.
